Effective Marketing and Selling is really about giving the marketplace a “Reason” to say Yes to your offer and a big enough reason to choose to do business with you over others.  If a qualified prospect is not doing business with you it’s primarily because you have not give them “Reason Enough” to say Yes to your offer.

This is the reason positioning you as an expert and up and coming celebrity professional is so important.  When they perceive you as such you give them a “Reason” to buy from you and do business with you over others.  List 5 things you are working on to improve what you do and what you offer that would give rock solid ample reason for your prospects to do business with you.  Here is where you have to “Think Outside the Box”.

For instance, how effective are business cards?

As a business person like any other profession, you need more customers, sales and speaking events, and more bottom line profits.  So let me ask you, how many clients, referrals and money can you directly trace back to being results of your business card?

The fact is business cards and brochures as important as they are when everything is said and done are really poor performers in the area of marketing and generating revenue.  The three major reasons are:

1. Business cards have been used for 100 years and have exhausted its uniqueness.

2. Everybody uses them, and no matter how fancy or how much money you spend on them, it does not make you stand out from the rest of the business cards your competitors are passing out.

3. The fact is, far too many business cards end up in the trash can.

However, there is one type of business card that “Never” ends up in a trash can, which is really not a business card but a book that functions as a business card on steroids!

Most professionals and even many authors do not understand the many functional uses of a book to generate new business, new customers and fresh revenue.  Most believe that the only function of a book is to create revenue from selling it.  But the truth of the matter is; a book sold brings a few coins to your wallet but a book given away returns Financial Independence.

Our subconscious mind is designed to prosper, promote, increase, heal and guide us into every good thing and keep us safe at all times.  And the only thing we need to do to tap into those wonderful benefits is to program our creative mind to those things by using our thoughts and imagination to see and think those things we desire in our mind on a constant basis.  When you think about something, mediate on it, dwell on it, and verbally affirm it the time and place will come that you will actually “Believe It” and then you will see those things show up in your physical world and reality.

When most people start off wanting to change their life and results and start using these methods to change their thinking they do not believe in their heart those things are true because they cannot see them with their physical senses and therefore believe those thing they are saying do not exists.

If you find yourself over whelmed and full of stress it is simply because you are trying to reach your goals, solve your problems and live your life from the power of your conscience or intellectual mind.  In other words, you are trying to figure out how to live, survive and thrive but the problem is our intellectual mind is not designed for that.  And when we try to force it to do a job it was not intended to do we find we do not get what we want but do inherit struggle, stress and frustration from that plan.  For years I read in the Bible “Cease from your labor and enter into His rest”.  And for years I wanted to experience that but had no clue how to do it, mainly because I did not know anyone who was doing it or knew how to do it.  I had no “Cease from your labor and enter into His rest” mentor to show me how.  My feeble attempts got me nowhere but confused.  Then one day after months of saturating my mind with wealth, success and prosperity thoughts it suddenly hit me, I got it.  I realized the way to cease from your labor and enter into His rest is stop trying to figure out how to live and just start saturating my mind with what I want and without my intellectual help the law of attraction brings to me everything I need to fulfill what I want!  I no longer stress for what I want or struggle to get it, I just think, meditate and saturate my mind with what I want, rest and bingo it comes to me.

To mediate is to saturate your mind and thinking, so when you worry and stress you are mediating and saturating your mind with fear and things you don’t want which brings you those exact things.  Change your mental gears and you will change your outer world.

Renew your Mind Daily

Mind Set

If you want to accelerate positive change in your life and take your business and income to the next level of increase you must “Renew Your Mind” daily.  Make it your commitment to drench, flood and saturate your mind with you being a completely healthy, whole and financially successful person.  There is only one way on earth to accomplish this and that is by investing one hour a day first thing in the morning to reading, listening, studying, watching, affirming and meditating on personal growth material.

When it comes to your Personal Economy the best thing you can do to make it what you want it to be is to understand Seasons. There are other certain things you want to keep in mind and pay attention to as well.  For example;

  • Your opportunities are not limited, so why settle for a limited income? 
  • Most people spend way too much time focusing on the outgoing of their money, instead of putting all of their energies on the incoming of their money.  You will never get rich trying to cut back and save money.  Do not concern yourself too much with what you are spending, but on ways to improve what you are earning. 
  • Learn how to spend money, not save money.  Sure saving money is important and I think we should all be doing it, however, how you spend money is by far more important.  In order to spend money right, look at the results that spending will bring.   I will spend $100.00 at Barnes and Nobel without blinking an eye.  Why?  Because the knowledge I get from those books result in ideas that I turn into thousands of dollars in profits.  Over the past 30 years if I state that I spent $10,000.00 on buying lunches on perspective clients, it would be an understatement.  Much of all that money was wasted on clients who did not qualify for lunch.  Today, I take people out and will be happy to pick up the tab no matter how much it is, after they signed the contract! 
  • The biggest ROI (return on investment) that has worked for me is investing in marketing, exposure, building lead generating products, positioning myself as an expert, branding and associating with industry leaders. All this costs money, but it is little money in comparison to the big money it brings in.  I do not waste my money on conventional advertising when street smart marketing is so much more effective. 
  • Everyone wants to be associated with you if they know you are associated with the alpha dog.  You do not need to be the top gun; the big honcho you just need to be in association with them and people will be attracted to you like bees to a honey comb. 
  • Here is the most important information I can share with you in this email.  For the most part, the challenges many face today is not due from lack of competence, but stems from being unprepared for the inevitable down turn of the economy better known as the winter season.  From the time civilization begun to engage in commerce there has been cycles of lack and abundance.  It follows the natural rhythm of nature; spring, summer, fall and winter.  Financial shortage, lack of cash flow and money struggles today are not the byproducts of business failure, but failure to plan for the winter season. 
  • During the winter season, you plant much but reap very little. The ground is not conducive to produce an abundant harvest.  You labor much and produce little.   If you stocked your panty well in the season of plenty, you will have plenty in the season of shortage.  The problem for many is that they failed to stock the pantry in good times, and now when the land yields little for the much seed you plant, you have nothing to sustain you from your bare pantry.  There is a great lesson in the Bible about Joseph and the 7 years of plenty and the 7 lean years.  You should read it sometime. 
  • In the winter season if you did not stock up from the season of plenty, you engage and have to endure a survival experience until the winter season passes.  If you have a well stocked pantry you will Thrive in the winter season because it is a buyer’s market.  Things that cost thousands of dollars in the season of plenty can be purchased for pennies on the dollar in the winter season.  Why?  Businesses are not selling from a position of Thriving but rather from a position of Surviving. 
  • The best thing you can do right now is work smart; that means work hard to survive this winter season while you plant seeds to reap big when things change to a season of plenty.  But remember, just because it is a season of plenty does not guarantee you will prosper, nor just because it is a winter season guarantees you will suffer.  The steps you take, the relationships you build and the actions you put forth is the deciding factor of what you experience in a season. 
  • Whatever you do, know that you have the Power and Ability to change your Personal Economy to be what you want it to be.  Choose well my friend!

How strong are your Leadership Skills?

How strong are your leadership skills?  Poor leadership and weak standards create unhealthy teams that produce failing results.  Success is your responsibility.  You must develop and hone your leadership skills in order to create productive teams that produce superior results. In today’s world of business, teams are not composed of just employees for the majority of small business owners have no employees but compose their enterprises through outsourcing, vendors, sub-contractors and joint venture partners. These venues are what create your teams.

The first goal of leadership is know your direction-where you want to go, want you want to have and what you want to create.

Then you must communicate effectively and clearly to your team your boundaries, expectations, and rewards of all team players.

After that you must commit to adherence to your core principals and plans while maintaining room for flexibility.  And then last but certainly not least, you must chose the right team players.  Here are the rules: “Be quick to fire and slow to Hire”.

Never be afraid to eliminate the wrong person from your team and never be afraid to give ample opportunity to the right person on your team.  Both of these methods will help you earn a million dollar annual income.

“Inner Contentment”

Loving your Spouce

“Inner Contentment” is the root of all the things we desire in life.  The only reason we desire financial independence, extraordinary relationships and complete health is because we believe those things will bring about that “Inner Contentment” that our soul seeks and craves but for most people their conscience mind is completely oblivious to this fact.  And the truth of the matter is many of those things do in fact bring about the contentment and happiness we seek, at least for a while.

Does that mean we cannot have “Inner Contentment” while we seek to acquire or manifest the things we desire? No of course not, in fact the real secret is that we can obtain that “Inner Contentment” while we seek those things, and if we learn how to obtain it before actually having those things in the physical realm, that Inner Contentment will carry over when they do show up and continue to stay long after those material things have passed away from our life.

The Worst Sentence You Could Utter…

There are many mistakes we can make in business and recover from, working with the wrong people, selling the wrong product, selling the right product to the wrong market, working too little, partying too much and the list goes on and on but despite them all, we usually can recover from them.

Book PostcardHowever, there is one sentence that if you speak will eventually destroy your business without remedy. If you ever say this sentence your business and income are doomed.  Here is the business death sentence…

“I don’t have time, I can’t afford, I don’t know how to market and promote my business” 

Let those words come out of your mouth and your business boat will sink like a heavy rock.  The number one thing you must do to keep your business and income alive is become extremely proficient at marketing; email marketing, direct marketing, advertising marketing, word of mouth marketing and every other type of marketing media is available to you.

Millionaire Speakers MarketingPeople often ask me what is the real secret to my success is and I will confess it boils down to this.  I have mastered the art and system of turning an offer into a lead, then turning that lead into a paycheck.  This sounds so easy and simplistic, but it has taken me over 20 years, a lot of hard committed work, and a million dollars to perfect it into predictable wealth system.

Here is how I work it daily, my “Modis Operendi” (Method of Operation).  I arise at 5:00 am to study and read for an hour.  At 6:00 am I am on my computer doing my email marketing until 8:00 am.  From 8:00 am to 9:00 am I eat and shower and get ready for my 12 hour work day which usually ends about 9:00-9:30 pm.

You can eliminate your fear of lack of sales when you focus your time on becoming proficient at marketing, and that only requires you to follow a set system like our turn key Painless Prospecting and Selling System.

I specialize on teaching professionals on “Turning Complete Strangers Into Paying Customers”.  Here are some key points when it comes to marketing.

  1. Marketing is not about sales it’s about building a relationship.  If you cannot get someone to say yes when you ask them to dance, chances are very low that you will get a date with that person, let alone marry them!  I had a good friend that would go up to women in a nightclub and instead of asking them to dance he would say, “Want to go outside a make out?”  Needless to say, he always went home alone and disappointed.  Now before you criticize good old Pete for his stupid method of picking up chicks, take a look at how you approach prospects. Are you inviting them to dance or jump into bed with you on the first call? 
  1. Marketing is a method of business not an event. An event happens sporadically which how most approach their marketing efforts, but effective, profitable and enjoyable marketing is the method you conduct your business.  It is like a diet, they do not work because it’s a method of losing weight, instead of a lifestyle to keep the weight off. 

You can make a lot of bad choices in business, but make sure you never utter the sentence which has no cure… “I don’t have time, I can’t afford, I don’t know how to market and promote my business”

Prospecting Made Easy

There may not be anything more distasteful in the entire realm of business than prospecting.  For most, it is painful, unfruitful and down right unpleasant.  It is usually done under extreme inner protest, and done extremely poorly.  It is any wonder that it produces disgusting results?  The big culprit in all this misery over prospecting and marketing comes from not understanding the process and having a wrong perspective of it.  Far too many professionals view it as begging people to do something they do not want to do and finding great pleasure in slamming the door shut in our face. 

Okay, maybe they don’t articulate it that way, but I promise you that is the mechanics going on inside their noodle. Rejection is always painful; I do not care how tough you say your skin is, or how much you say it does not bother you.  Getting a No and rejection to your offer is like taking a straight kick to the McNuggets.  It hurts even if you are wearing a Cup or don’t have any McNuggets to be kicked into your stomach!

The good news is there are some pro-active things you can do to soften the blow and pain, and in fact make prospecting a lot easier.

Prospecting is about…

Timing: Timing is everything.  When we show up with our offer to people it is more about timing in their life than our selling skills.  If the timing is right, you can sell hard candy to people with no teeth.  If the timing is not right, you could be exchanging hundred-dollar bills for twenty-dollar bills and people will not take them.  If you think I am exaggerating, I run a lot of sponsorship programs where we offer people $11,000 with no strings attached and hundreds refuse to take it!  I used to think it was due to complete stupidity but I leaned its more about wrong timing for them. 

Finding:  Effective and successful prospecting is about people finding you and not so much of you finding them.  It is about attracting customers, not hunting for customers.  You must become visible in the marketplace so that your ideal customers can find and locate you.  They are spending money on the exact same thing you are selling and they might as well spend it with you.  And they will if they can find you.

Identifying:  When you are prospecting you are really going into the marketplace to identify the people you can help, whose timing is just right and want what you are selling. When you go to the fruit section, do you just close your eyes and pick any fruit on the table?  Hell no, you spend 10 minutes expecting, turning over, poking, touching, picking up, putting back and finally identifying the best ones to put in your basket.  Do you put rotten, bug ridden fruit in your basket? No…then why are you accepting rotten customers for?

Eliminating:  When people say No to your offer they are simply eliminating themselves from your target market list.  You are eliminating them from your radar of ideal customers.  When people say No, they are doing you a big favor, they are saving you time, energy and money.  I had the best experience last Sunday when I went to the Flea Market.  A vendor there had a couple of models I was interested in.  When I asked him the price and he told me, I countered with an offer.  He smiled and said, “No, but thank you for the offer”.  I was so impressed with his come back reply, and one I never heard before that I paid him his asking price (then I grumbled to everyone the whole day that I paid too much for the item!).  When I made my offer to him, he immediately identified me and basically but extremely politely and tactfully said “Your ass is out of here”!

When you understand these four dynamics about prospecting, not only does it become easier, but you will find it more productive as well as profitable.  You will be marketing from an intellectual stand point instead of an emotional standpoint.  I guess you could compare it to wearing a cup made out of iron instead of plastic…
