“Ignoring People”

Never use “Ignoring People” as a way to say no to their request or offer. This will build you a reputation of being low class, non professional and a flake.  Now none of these may be true of you but those labels will stick on you like super glue to ceramic if you “Ignore” peoples calls texts, and or emails because you don’t know how to tactfully say “No Thank”.  You have every right to say yes or no to whatever anyone asks of you but in the world of business and life you must learn the “Art and Skill” of knowing when and how to say no.

The easiest way and most used way to say no by non professionals is too “Ignore” the follow up from people.  But professionals use the skill of saying no thank you that not only strengthens the relationship but takes it to the next level of increase for both parties.  This is just one skill we teach all our Mentorship Students.  Once you get the reputation that you respond to every follow up request you will never have to worry about customers or clients, business or income because you will have more than you can use for the rest of your life.

Professionals always say “Yes” even when their response or reply is “No Thank You”.

If you are ever going to “Ignore People” the professional way to do it is contact that person and thank them for being part of your network but due to current conditions you are now deleting them from your circle.  The good news is, if you are a Professional before you ever have to come to that state they will have already dropped you, deleted you and took you off of their Facebook page.  We get lots of people who we know de-friend us off their facebook due to our posts. 100% of them are broke, bitter, and angry and can’t deal with all this success talk.

Never get so low in life that it makes you bitter toward people.  We all struggle with the issues of life, we all have challenges but we can choose to be “Bitter” or choose to get “Better”.

Success is the Harvest

Sometimes we have to put money down in order for our income to go up! Never be afraid to invest in yourself, knowledge, education and business.  You are your best investment.  We spend thousands of dollars a year on books, programs, audios, home study courses, seminars and events so that we can be the best we can be so that we can serve you the best that we can.  I am always amazed how people are afraid to invest a few hundred dollars to go to a week end event to improve their life and business but have no problem spending a few hundred dollars a month on food and social drinks.

Success is the harvest of the time, energy, sacrifice and money we have invested in our lives to grow and expand personally as well as professionally. There have been many times that we have found out about an upcoming seminar and training event and cleared our entire calendar to attended that event.  As we move forward in our journey if we keep in the forefront of our mind that in order to reap much we must invest much to become a person and professional of excellence and quality.

Life will always have its up’s and down’s but that does not require us to ride that roller coaster of life.  We can grow to the point and place in life that we ride the waves of life like a professional and skillful surfer in the open ocean.  When it comes to life, live it like a… ”Professional”.

“Problems We Solve”

We are known and remembered by the “Problems We Solve” or the “Problems We Create”.

The marketplace is very attracted to those who solve problems and will in fact pay high fees depending on the importance of the problems you solve. This is why I counsel business owners and professionals never “frustrate your customers and clients” but always seek to make your business culture one that is easy and user friendly.  We welcome problem solvers with open arms and appreciate their contribution to our life, but when we encounter a “problem creator” we want to run to the rest room and throw up!

There are some people no matter what, they always have problems, create problems and are a major problem.  The sad fact is, they don’t want their problems solved they just enjoy causing problems.  These people are extremely toxic and addicting and difficult to rid your business and life from, that is what makes them so dangerous.  It’s ok to be a “walking problem” when we are toddlers but hey when the diapers come off so should our problem making come off too.  Our Grandson E-Jay who is coming up to his first birthday is a bundle of joy who we love without measure, but that homeboy is trouble on two little legs.  Our house looks like a “Hurricane” hit it after he comes for a visit.

The other day Melinda went to go pick him up, and she wanted to take our Nissan Cube but I said no just take the new car.  As we left together in separate cars, I taking the Cube got to the corner when I had this major vision of E-Jay in the back seat slinging cookies, crackers and juice all over the leather seats in our brand new car.  I slammed on my brakes, made and instant U-turn and flew down the high way to catch up to Melinda.  Speeding with flashing lights and honking horn I finally caught up to hear and yelled “Pull Over”!

I jumped out of the car and said…I just had a Vision and it wasn’t good!  We traded cars instantly.  Let’s make sure as professional adults we get the reputation of being a “Problem Solver instead of people looking at us and having a vision of a “Burning Inflamed Hemorrhoid” on two feet better known as a pain in the rump!

“Professional Finisher”

It’s easy to start things but difficult finishing things.  One of the greatest culprits to success is not learning how to become a “Professional Finisher”.  Millions of people are full of talent, skill, ability, ambition, motivation, knowledge, education, connections, faith, vision, and intention but still find themselves broke, financially challenged and still not achieved their major dreams.  I am sure you know lots of people like this, and in fact you may be one of them yourself.  What is wrong with this picture?  Why are the dream puzzle parts not fitting?  Why is the cake not baked?

In our Mentorship program I deal with the majority of people that fit into this group and help them figure out what is wrong.  After all the mechanics are said and done, the basic underlying problem is that they are fantastic at starting things, they bang out of the gate like a race horse on steroids, they blaze across the sky like a shooting star but never succeed because they have never developed the “Art and Skill” of being a “Professional Finisher”.

Many things come into play when we talk about this subject, because there are times that we must exit from a business, plan, system, industry or product.  Working hard on things that don’t work, don’t make them work, yet this is the plan millions of people are on.  Every business and project has 3 parts;

1. The Entry (starting point)
2. The Staying (growing point)
3. The Exit (sell it, dump it, die and pass it on)

Becoming proficient in these three areas are extremely important if your goal is success and financial achievement.  This is learning the “Art and Skill” of “Professional Finishing Power”.  Our job as far as Melinda and I are concerned is to help people “Save Money and Earn Money” instead of Spend Money.  There is nothing more fun that helping people and making money. Resolving Obstacles

Problems, struggles and challenges do not go way because we want them too, they don’t dissolve even if we desperately need them to go away.  The only way obstacles are resolved and overcome is by dealing with them.  Because it is much easier to focus on doing the things we enjoy in life and business it becomes very easy to ignore issues that we would rather not deal with.  However, whenever we have areas that need to be addressed unless we address them head on they do not go away but in fact get worse.

Living a successful and abundant life requires daily discipline, growth and investment in you.  Look at your life as the greatest investment on earth.  What are you daily putting in? Because what you put in is what you put out.  It is the same with our money.  How we look and view our money will determine our financial future.  Nobody could possibly deny the economy problem we are facing globally. One cannot deny the fact that the US dollar is in serious trouble and that we are headed for another 1929 financial crash.  People in 1929 were warned 3 years before the crash that is was coming.  The ones saying that were labeled “Crazy Fanatics” that should be put in a mental hospital.  It was the “Roaring 20’s” how could they have a financial collapse?

Peak Performance

One of the greatest realty we can come to is to acknowledge that all the success we desire is in our hands.  It is based on what we do and never what other people do.  Our business growth, income level and harmonious relationships are base on our performance, not on the performance of others.  It is however very easy to believe that our success is in the hands of what others do and on their performance.  We can look at our employees, our vendors, suppliers, business partners, associates, down line and up line and everyone else in our environment and it could very well be true that their performance is having a big impact on our results.  But the question goes back to “Who chose and allows them to stay in our environment?

Never complain about what you allow to remain. If a business is not working out, a partnership, friendship, vendor, supplier, landlord, office or whatever, if it is not giving you the results in you want it is in you “Power to Change It”.   I will be the first one to admit that many times this is a very hard thing to do.  In the past we have had to let people go from our companies, we had to end toxic friendships, eliminate wrong relationships, end businesses that no longer produced or fit our needs and that was never easy, but was mandatory for us to continue to grow and operate at our “Peak Performance”.

The key element is to focus on operating at your “Peak Performance”.  Look at every part of your personal and business life and ask yourself if you are performing at your “Peak Performance”.  There is nothing worse than a car that misfires, blows smoke out its back pipes and has no power.  30 plus years ago I had cars that kept running even after you turned the key off, looked like a white cloud driving down the road and had every gang banger on the corner throw rocks at me because every time I drove by them and had to shift gears it would back fire and sound like a gunshot!

Today I drive “High Performance Cars” that feel like you are riding on a cloud and for whatever reason no one throws rocks at me anymore.  Get your eyes off of other people and start looking on how to increase and perform at your “Peak Potential”.  If others around you are not giving you the results you want don’t get mad at them…Get Rid of Them!  “Peak Performance” it is in your hands!

Learn to Organize

Learning how to organize, focus, persist and delegate are extremely important attributes to have in order to reach your full potential.  I was talking to my good friend and master entrepreneur Joseph Botelho about success and we both agreed that success is important but the aim in life is to create “Significance”.  Significance entails everything you would find in success like wealth, achievement, awards, fame, recognition, dreams and power but adds these 3 elements to it:

1. What are you going to leave behind that will continue to better your family and humanity after you are gone?  Will people remember your name 50 years after you are gone?  Shoot most people are forgotten 50 days after they kick the bucket.  This is why I think everyone should be a published author.  We still read books that are over 100 years old today keeping that persons message and memory alive and their message continues to bless generations.
2. Is what you do making a positive impact on people?  Are you making the lives of people better with what you bring to the marketplace?
3. Love is the greatest force on earth.  I wish I could honesty say or describe what true love is or how it works, but I can’t.  What I can tell you is that we can see it and recognize it when it appears in our life from another human being.  It comes through the eyes, words, touch, compassion, forgiveness, empathy, caring, giving and acting. Love is much too powerful to contain in words, it has to be expressed in action.  What teen age boy has not told his girl friend “If you love me you will have my baby” That is not love, that is growing out of control hormones in full swing!

I encourage you to take a look at your life and revamp it not just to attain success but take it one step higher to “Significance”.

Turn your Paper Money Into Gold

There are two major things I always strive for:

1. Multiply my (financial) seed (by sowing it)
2. Turn paper into Gold!

During the dark ages “Alchemists” would work on trying to mix elements together to produce Gold.  I am told that even people like Isaac Newton and Nostradamus took this study of trying to create Gold serious.  Of course they failed for Gold cannot be manufactured. The interesting thing about Gold is that there is a very limited supply of it and there is not enough for everyone and that is one reason why it is so desirable and precious.  Ask any wealthy person and they will tell you “It’s foolish and financial suicide not to own some Gold”. 

The Alchemist dreamed of taking base metals and turning them into Gold, the fairy tale writer dreamed and wrote about a “Goose that lays Gold Eggs” and the little green man searches for the Pot of Gold at the end of the Rainbow.  

Of course we would all love if these “fictitious” tales were true but we all know they are not but… There is one such tale much like these fictitious ones except this one is real.  You can actually turn “paper” into Gold.  You see, that is exactly what we do when we acquire Gold Bullion.  We are taking paper money (which is losing its buying power by the day) and turning it into pure Gold.  In the end no intelligent person believes that paper currency or paper money will last and is stable.  Paper is paper and it does not have much value in and of itself, even if it is green.  In 1971 Richard Nixon took the US dollar off of the Gold standard making the US currency backed by nothing more than the paper it’s printed on.  This way the Government can print as much of it as it wants creating the illusion that “All is Well and Prosperous”.  Just look at our economy and you will see the wisdom in that theory.

Take some of your money that you work so hard for and turn it into Gold and let Gold work hard for you!

RELAX!!

Why not try mixing “prayer” to your daily routine, you may find that is does wonders in combating stress, anxiety and fear.  A simple prayer of “Gratitude” goes a long way in bringing about peace in our heart and life.  As we all seek to do more, gain more and be more, the overload of this type of lifestyle can take its toll on our lives.  I shared with you a few weeks back how I woke up one day and realized I lost my “Peace”.  I was in such a mode of work and passion overload that life had to have one of my front teeth fall right out of my head in order for me to wake up and slow down.

When you are a professional speaker it is a heck of a thing to smile and look like a boxer who lost the fight!

It was a “Fire Alarm” that got my attention.  Since then my peace has been restored (and my tooth too!) and Melinda and I make it a early morning habit before we do anything else to spend a little time in prayer and being thankful for our life and all the good things we are blessed with. We also say a prayer for you and over you that you would receive every blessing in life God has for you.

Many times the best way to speed up is to slow down!  Take some time out from your stressful and busy day and just be good to yourself. Go get a foot massage, take in an afternoon movie, sleep in for once and enjoy life.  Remember Prosperity without Peace is no prosperity at all.

Need more money?  Try giving some away.  To the natural mind that sounds like insanity yet it is a Universal Law that works. You plant a seed you reap a harvest.  No one thinks a farmer is crazy because he uses this system.  Over the past 34 years I have given my way out of financial jams into financial abundance on many occasions.  In fact in 2004 I wrote a book about it where I highlight some of the wealthiest men on the earth like J.C. Penny, and John D. Rockefeller, and many others who went from broke to wealth using this system of giving.  It worked for them, it’s worked for me, and it work for you too.

Building Your Business

Why do people give up and quit in business?  Building your business and marketing are not normally fun and pleasant things to do.  It is like going on a journey through a hot desert in search for an Oasis but enduring the beating sun, hot sand and a camel that has bad breath and passes gas along the way combined with the “feeling” you will never find water is many times to unbearable and people simply give up!  Working on your business and marketing is like going to the dentist.  For me, oral hygiene is extremely important so I visit my dentist often for regular check-up’s and deep cleaning about every three months.  Even on these routine check up’s and cleanings I have to stop a block from my dentist, get out of the car and walk around the block giving myself a “courage talk”.

It takes every ounce of mental discipline not to go into a full panic attack when I walk into the dentist office and smell the aroma of “Needles”. However, I push through all that unpleasant feeling because having a “Million Dollar Smile” is really important to me.

I have found over the years most audiences want their speakers to have all their teeth in their head. My thoughts, hey what’s a few missing teeth among friends? But most event planners don’t appreciate the humor in that! (lol).

As you go about building your business in the pursuit of your Financial Dreams the Journey will at times be long, the camel you ride will be foul and obnoxious and when it seems like you will never find your “Oasis” Don’t Give Up…Water will be found, the Gold is out there, your desired Treasure is waiting for you.  Hang on, it is worth it!
