In every adversity, every set back, every disappointment lies a huge
blessing and opportunity, the only problem is we are not trained and
conditioned to see them but instead focus on the negative aspect of outward conditions.  For instance have you ever worked on a sale or contract and put a lot of time, work and money into it and have the prospects say yes we are ready to go and just when they are ready to sign the contract and the deal falls through?  If you been in business for any length of time you have had this happen more than once.  It would be easy to say, “Where is the good in that”?

Here it is.  It teaches and reminds you that money does not come from people but through people and the key to tap into the river of plenty is to realize our income comes from our thoughts about the money we desire not worry about if the deals go through.  As long as we forget about the outside conditions and keep the image of our vision intact the money, contacts and sales will come as sure as the Sun comes up in the morning.

Living an Extraordinary Life

1.      Find your talent (that which you love to do and are good at) and “Do It”.  Some call this your passion, and it is here that you will find your
joy, happiness, energy and monetary reward.

2.      Stop Wasting Time. Stop wasting your time with things and people that bring you no value.  Don’t compromise on this vital issue.  It will make the difference whether you live an extraordinary life or a mundane miserable existence.

3.      Every day you are investing in your Success or Defeat by what you do, what you say, what you think and who you associate with.

4.      Master the book “Think and Grow Rich”.  If you are not reading and studying this book on a regular basis you are not really serious about eliminating the things you don’t want and attracting and getting the things you do want.

5.      When you invest in you (your personal growth) the marketplace has no problem investing in your product line.at whatever price tag you put on it.

Don’t Be the “Low Price” Leader

Far too many small business owners, entrepreneurs and professionals try to follow and emulate Wal Mart’s business model and be the King and Low Price Leader.  It worked for the late Billionaire Sam Walton, but for most entrepreneurs it is the quickest route to Bankruptcy.

The second most common mistakes professionals make, especially true in a challenging economy is to start slashing prices and lowering them in hopes to earn less profit but do more volume.  If you leave your wealth dependent upon the masses and large volume of sales you are going to sink like a lead balloon. If your plan to wealth is based on less profit on more volume…”You Will Work To Hard for to Little”. 

In fact, the only reason you should be selling a low price low profit margin item is to use it as a Lead Generator to attract and obtain new customers.  And if that is your marketing tool, you should be giving it away not trying to sell it.  For instance, if you took my annual income and divided it hourly, it comes to well over $500.00 an hour.  Do you think I am interested in spending an hour or more with people trying to sell them a $50.00 CD?

I only spend time talking with future prospects that I am 99.9 percent sure that I will be paid a minimum of $500.00 an hour.  For example, if I am selling a $2000.00 product of ours, I know that I can spend up to three hours of my time with that person as long as I know there is a 9.99 percent chance that I will sell them that item.  Now how do I position myself to get in that 9.99 percent range?  Before I talk with anyone about our product line, they will have been well processed through a multi-step pre-qualify marketing process that everyone in our data base goes through.  Here are the pre-qualifying steps.

  1. Can my product drastically help them and give them what they want?
  2. Do they want my product
  3. Can they afford my product 

When Yes is the answer to all three of those questions, then and only then do I get in front of anyone and start the sharing process.  Now, when I get in front of someone and I have three hours to close the deal, I can normally get them to say Yes to my offer in 20 minutes or less, however, I give them the whole 3 hours if they want it.  I do not take the money in the shortest time possible.

When people get an email or letter from me offering them a CD or Product for $99.00 most think I am trying to sell them it.  Or you kidding me, I have zero interest in selling $100.00 products, it’s a complete waste of my time and based on my hourly fee, it actually cost me money.  Why then do I do it?  Because I am in the business of helping people and I truly care about their future success.  I make these training CD’s available because I know they are key elements and tools that will help people reach their dreams.  Someone asked me, if that is true, why don’t you just give the training CD’s away?  I said if you are willing to pull your head out of your Ass for 5 minutes I will tell you why.  First, we give away tens of thousands of dollars of free resources every month and second the most injustice thing we can do to someone is to disable them by feeding them instead of teaching them how to fish.

The first law of Success and you better write this down is “Success is Book PostcardNever Free and Always Demands Payment!” No one can Feed You Success, Success must be caught by you, and some kind of financial investment is the only kind of bait Success bites on.

If you learn how to become proficient in marketing and master the skills of prospecting and lead generation response, you will join the ranks of those who take pride in becoming the “High Price Leader”.  Your motto and experience will be “More Value to My Customers with More Profits for My Company.

So just know, unless you and I are talking personally and you are about to write me a twelve thousand dollar check for the one and main product I sell, everything else I offer you is a tool and resource that will drastically help you become a Master in Marketing which you need to reach all of your business, professional and financial dreams.

Resources are like high-powered bullets, the world of finances and business is a “Dangerous Jungle” and everything that crawls out there will eat you for dinner.  You do not want to go out there and run out of bullets.  Wearing a fur coat because a Lion ate you is not the way to “Dress for Success”.

The Law of Activity

Have you ever tried to exercise the Law of Attraction and did not seem to get the results you were hoping for?  I think everyone on the planet has!  Just like anything new, the Law of Attraction has a leaning curve as well.  However, you can save yourself a lot of heartache, disappointment, frustration and problems if you just realize that the “Law of Activity” is what activates and makes the “Law of Attraction” work.  In the crudest way I can put it, basically the Law of Attraction is not going to do anything for you until you work your rear end off at your profession or goal.

Expect miracles; just do not expect them to happen overnight! Miracles do happen and although I am a firm believer in divine intervention, the basis of miracles are the results, the after math, the positive consequences if you will, of doing the right things that are headed in the right direction over a period of time..  These are the three key ingredients miracles are made up of:

  1. Right actions
  2. In the right direction
  3. Consistently done over a period of time 

Violate any of these three elements and you will not see miracles in your life and business, you will see mediocrity at all levels.  What got me through many of winter storms is no matter how hard things got, no matter what the outside circumstances portrayed; with an iron will I forced myself to keep taking right actions, in the right direction, everyday.

What were those actions and direction I took everyday?  They are the three things I have been proclaiming for the past 10 years from the mountain top;

1. Keep marketing your business even when the marketplace is not buying your products   The marketplace always regains its appetite and that is why you keep going even when they are not feeding.  What do 97 percent of business people do?  Give up!

2. Exposure:  Keep exposing your business and what you do and you will meet the right contacts that will unlock the bank vault for you. You are one contact way from having the floodgates of cash flow to you.

3 Associations:  I love what Donald Trump teaches; the first step to success is going from being a nobody to a somebody.  How do you do that?  Do something with people who already are a somebody!

When it comes to business growth, we cannot control who will say Yes and who will say No to our offer, but what we can control is our daily activity of how many people we make that offer too.  We get into financial trouble when we expect growth without the proper marketing activity.

law of attractionOne of the most amazing people I have ever known in my life is my friend Manny and we have been best friends for the past 35 years.  Why Manny is so amazing is he is like a Bumble Bee, defying science.  According to the law of physics due to the size of the body of the Bumble Bee and its wing span, it is scientifically impossible for it to fly.  But don’t tell the Bumble Bee that because he does not know it, and so he just zooms in the air anyway.

Manny too defies all business logic in the way he dresses and conducts business.  How he runs an extremely profitable business is mind-blowing and beyond my understanding, in fact Manny himself did not understand how he did it.  So for more than 30 years we just named him “The Phenomena”  But then a couple of years ago it dawned on me his Secret.  This guy is never moved by the word “No” and he never stops marketing his business from the time he gets up to the time he goes to bed.

It does not matter where or who he is with, he is promoting his company non stop, seven days a week, 365 days a year.  Even if you have no need for his sign company, you are going to hear about his company and what he can do for you, even if you live under a bridge!

You can do almost everything the wrong way in business and still succeed beyond your wildest dreams as long as you daily use the Law of Activity in marketing your business.

My Orange Socks

If you can figure out a way to give people what they want, you will become very rich.  Most people want long-term success, but are only willing to pay for things that bring instant gratification.

I love what my mentor Bob Proctors says; Tell me what you want and I will show you how to get it.

dee wallaceThe reason people struggle with selling their products and services is because they are doing just that; trying to sell people a product.  They do not take the time to listen to people in order to find out what people really want.  People look at your products as a problem not a solution.  In their mind, they are thinking, that is just what I need, more payments and spend money I do not have.

I can tell you from almost 30 years experience, in a challenging economy people are not interested in buying products or services!  That is why selling is so hard for most people.

What do people want?  I have no clue; that is, until I sit down with them and listen with my ears open and my mouth closed.  People are happy to tell you what they want; in fact it is virtually impossible not to let other people not know what we want because what we want pours out of us like a fountain.

A couple of years ago I went into a clothing store with the intent to buy 3 or 4 suites, some shirts, ties and dress pants, not to mention socks, shoes, belts and pocket squares.  I went in there ready to unload some serious money on that shop, and knowing that the salesperson was paid on commission, I figured I was going to make one chap a happy camper for the day.

As I walked in, I fell in love with four suites, wow; they were my style, big bright colors.  All I needed was a big hat and a feather and I would be ready for the side walks of Hollywood!

As I went into full swing trying on the coats the salesman kept trying to tell me those suits were not for me, kindly at first and then the pressure kept mounting.  Finally he said in a stern voice; Sir, I can not possibly sell you those suits; I would be doing you a dishonor!

I said okay, call that other salesperson over here to see if he will sell them to me?

Once he realized I was serious, he took off his glasses and wiped them and said; Sir, those suites look fabulous on you!  He even ended up selling me orange socks.

In your business you are operating as a servant or a judge.  The only way to become rich is by being a servant, that means giving people what they want, not what you think they need.

Business folks with the right intent try to sell people what they need instead of what people want and then wonder why business is so bad.  They are conducting business as a judge not a servant.

Try to sell me a bottle of your potion because it comes from the bottom of the ocean and has more nutrients than anything on the planet and I am not interested.   However, tell me that I can lower my blood sugar and improve my diabetes with your potion and I will buy a case of it, even if the potion comes from the butt of a camel!   Why?  I am not interested in buying products, but I will open my wallet for solutions and things I want.

Tale a look at your business today, and ask yourself if you are trying to sell your products or focusing on what people want?  It will be the difference between breaking the bank or breaking your back!

So in closing, if you drive the streets of Hollywood, and see some cat in a bright color suite, wearing orange socks, honk, it just might be me!

Don’t Worry About Sales…

In the world of business and Entrepreneurship sales are the most vital ingredients of any company, for without sales the organization ceases to exist.  With all this pressure on a business, it is not unusual that everyone from the President to the Sales rep fight a constant battle of worry over sales so much that they walk around looking like they are wearing extra small underwear!  However, the key to Sales Success in not to worry about sales, but to focus on massive, constant, and daily prospecting and marketing activity.

If you focus on activity, sales will be the natural end result.  Double and triple your daily activity and sales will start showing up on their own.

Faith and Action

More people have become bitter and disillusioned, and extremely disappointed because they sought to reach their business and financial dreams with faith and belief alone.  But faith is not the absent of action, rather it is the Reason for action.  The Bible states that “Faith without Works (action) is Dead”.  Meaning, if you do not add action to your faith the results you are looking and hoping for will not come to pass.

You have to have a reason to believe you are going to get a harvest.  When you market and prospect everyday, you are like a farmer planting seed in the ground.  As long as the farmer plants seed in the ground, he has every Reason to believe and expect that he is going to get a harvest.  In other words his faith has substance.

Show me any professional entrepreneur or business that does not put prospecting and marketing as their top priority and I will show you a business that is or headed straight to financial problems.

On the other hand, no matter how severe a business is in trouble, it has a very high rate of survival and turning things around if it will revamp and restructure their marketing plan and system.

When people come to me and ask me what they need to do to make their business successful or get it out of financial trouble, my answer is the same.  In fact it is the same answer I give to successful business owners or professionals who want to become more successful.  Here is the plan I give them.  Stop trying to Sell Products and…

  1. Create An Audience by using lead generation products. 
  1. Develop a Following by giving them high value information and solving their problems. 
  1. Create an atmosphere of buying instead of an atmosphere of selling. 

Success and business solutions are quite simple, but we have been conditioned and trained to complicate things and make things far more difficult than they need to be.

What’s Marketing?

When my oldest son Eric (now 34 years old) was about 15 years old when he called an ad offering a job.  Since this was his first experience at seeking work he called the phone number on the ad.  When the receptionist gave him a brief description of the job she then asked him to send in his resume, in which he shouted out to her, “What’s A Resume?” 

Once she explained what a resume was, he asked for directions how to get to the place of business to drop it off.  She asked him, “Where are you coming from?” he said, “My Home”.  I kid you not, that is a true story!

I often think back to that event when I talk with clients about the importance of having a proven marketing plan and they sit across me with glassy eyes, and I know in their mind they are thinking…”What’s Marketing”.  Now, the blame doesn’t really lay one hundred percent on them because the normal set of training out there about marketing is so boring and confusing no one but the Author’s mother is interested in reading it.

Trying To Build Wealth Backwards…

Growing up I was never what you would call “Mechanically Inclined” and perhaps that is why I never liked reading instructions which is why anything I tried to fix or install never came out right.  Unfortunately, most people, professionals and business owners who seek to create and build wealth go about it backwards and this is why they fail to achieve what they seek to accomplish.

Creating WealthLet me give you an example; most people seek to build a company, develop a product or service and put all their energy, time and money into this phase of the business.  Once they exploit this avenue to the tilt they proudly look up and are

 satisfied that it is the best Gizmo that ever hit planet Earth.  Now, after resources are almost depleted, and everyone is worn down and wore out, they go about in the marketplace to sell it.

Big Mistake.  Most of the time this plan leads to bitter disappointment and failure; it is trying to build wealth backwards.  What is the correct way?  This is what only the few know and are unwilling to share with others.  But I am going to revel it to you here.

The most valuable asset of any company is their “List” of customers, clients, prospects and followers.  The first step in building wealth is not building a company, product or service; it is building a “List” which is composed of three elements.

  1. Build an Audience
  2. Develop a Following
  3. Sell Them Products 

You build your list by Lead Generating Products; better known as Free Informational gifts of reports, books, CD’s and DVD’s.  Once they respond to receive your free offer you begin to feed them with more valueable information and then they will on their own accord start to follow you.

Once they start to follow you and you continue to take care of them by solving their problems, and giving them constant value the next organic thing that happens is that they start buying your product line without resistance. 

No more trying to get people to buy things, begging them to sign up on your opportunity, Hell most of the time the stupid bastards won’t even show up to the meeting after they promised you they would and you are left like a glossy eyed Jack Ass pacing the lobby floor tying to call them which of course goes straight to voice mail.

No more cutting prices down so low that all profit is lost just to get the deal.  No more fear of where your next sale or lead is going to come from.  No more headaches, upset stomach and rectal leakage because you just don’t know how you are going to make ends meet this month!

If I had to start from scratch today and if I had no idea what kind of business I wanted to start or product I wanted to sell I would spend 90 percent of my time building my list by giving things away.  You can sustain a very healthy list for a very long time without ever asking them to purchase anything.  This way you have plenty of time to decide what you want to sell and when you are ready, you will have a house full of guest ready to buy!

How Effective Is Your Business Card?

Depending to grow your business and income on the power of your business card is like shooting Godzilla with a pea shooter and thinking that big monster is going to kill over.  No one in their right mind would be that stupid to believe that…Right? (Please say yes).  Yet millions of professionals and business owners go out into the marketplace with that mighty card expecting that they are going to change their financial and business conditions around for the better.

How effective are business cards?

As a business owner like any other profession, you need more customers, more sales, and more bottom line profits.  So let me ask you, how many clients, referrals and money can you directly trace back to being results of your business card?

The fact is business cards and brochures as important as they are when everything is said and done are really poor performers in the area of marketing and generating revenue.  The three major reasons are:

1. Business cards have been used for 100 years and have exhausted its uniqueness.

2. Everybody uses them, and no matter how fancy or how much money you spend on them, it does not make you stand out from the rest of the business cards your competitors are passing out.

3. The fact is, far too many business cards end up in the trash can.
