Your Life Matters! It matters to people and it matters to God. Your life is important, never forget that or ever let anyone or anything tell you different.

If you are not being talked about, gossiped about, criticized, lied about and blocked from peoples Facebook “You Are Not Succeeding Enough”.  Nothing boils the blood of “Losers” more than your “Success”.  Jesus did nothing but good to everyone but He was accused of being a drunk, devil and hanging out with prostitutes. Remember “Criticism” is nothing more than the “Death Gargle of an Underachiever”. 

Don’t worry about those who talk behind your back or those who hate you because you are improving your life and succeeding.  Never exhort to trying to defend yourself orProve Your Innocence”.  Your time and energy is far too valuable to waste it on losers.  The truth of the matter all those who hate you, are bitter towards you and talk about you are so full of anger and bitterness lie awake in bed with insomnia, have that hatred burn an ulcer in their stomach so bad it gives them a bloody stool…all because they hate your success!

I know people who have dropped dead with disease and some right now with cancer because they had and have so much bitterness towards my success in life.  Never pay the high price of bitterness and hatred; it will put you in the grave.

I never offer a defense when I am attacked because my enemies won’t believe it and my true friends don’t need it.  If you are a professional with integrity, and have to prove your innocence to a so called friend…they are not your friend.

Success comes with lots of benefits and the luxury of financial freedom but you do have to learn how to duck and dodge tomatoes.

When I look back over the past 34 years of my career I realize that all my Mentors did one thing and that was to help me focus on becoming a “Proficient Leader” for each one knew that Leadership is the foundation of all wealth and success.  They also knew Leadership starts at home, with you.  I was trained at 19 years old by my Mentors on leading myself to develop discipline, excellence, vision, determination, persistence, faith, honor, loyalty, courage and class.  I had to lead myself in these areas before I could ever develop to a point that I could lead others.

However, many people mistake management for leadership and that is a deadly mistake if you are in the “Team Building Business” which is one of the highest paid professions in the world.  They say if you are a leader and no one is following you then you are simply taking a walk. The true role of leadership is anything but glamorous but in fact one that is of service.  Leadership is many times a very lonely road.  While others are home resting you are up working late into the night and early morning to help and be a service to people.  It is a role that is undervalued and underappreciated.  Most of the time you are the first one to a meeting (setting everything up) and the last one to leave (cleaning everything up).

The crowds enjoy all the value you bring and the service you provide and after the party is over they zoom out with their presents without saying thank you.  This however is a very small price and sacrifice in comparison to knowing that as a true Leader you are changing lives and creating destinies for good people.  And just to put the icing on the cake, it pays so well in income that you will live like a King or Queen with Financial Freedom!  Use your business to “build people” don’t use “people to build your business”!

Over the past 30 years working with thousands of people from a vast array of professions and the good fortune to work with the top international leaders in our industry it has allowed me to see a very clear pattern why 5% (5 percent) of people reach their dreams and 95% (95 percent) fail to reach them. It has nothing to do with the stars, mystery, luck, hard work in and of itself, spirituality, prayer, faith or anything else we would like to put the blame on.

Many success plans attempt to “Teach you how to Get There” (your dreams) however in this email I want to address what “Keeps you from Getting There” (your dreams).

Here are the top 5 things that keep the 95% (95 percent) chasing the carrot yet never getting it.

  1. All Talk No Action:  I am not sure if this is due in some cases from a nervous tic or it’s a soothing balm for the mind to ease the pain of lack and failure.
  2. Excuses:  My millionaire mentor told me 30 years ago I could make money or excuses but not both at the same time.
  3. Justification:  They become (angry and hostile) masters of convincing themselves that it’s not their fault for the lack of results and then go on a massive campaign to convince others of the same thing.
  4. Stay on the Same Plan:  Working hard on things that don’t work won’t make them work! Yet I see professionals circle the same failure path over and over until they drop dead.
  5. They Know Everything:  Someone once said if there was any topic you wanted to know about just ask a teenager…they know everything!  Sometimes we go from teenager to adulthood with that same behavioral pattern. 

In the past 30 years I have never seen anyone permanently damaged and could not make a comeback from taking a risk to follow their dreams.  In fact part of the equation of success is multiple failures better known as “education and training” to a higher level of living.  Every millionaire I know has had multiple failures, setbacks, bankrupted, disappointed, discouraged and the temptation to give up…but they didn’t and that is why the continued on to reach their dreams.  Take a look at these 5 failure traps and see if they are part of your life and if they are, dump them A.S.A.P.

Now let’s face it, giving away free printed books can be costly up front, however, giving away an e-book cost nothing and can be as effective as giving away a hard copy of a book.  I create thousands of dollars and entire list of new customers by giving away e-books. Giving away e-books creates value, goodwill and appreciation among those you give them too.

Changing Lives Through the Power Of The Pen

Dr. Martin Luther King proclaimed “I have a dream”. This is the mantra of every published, self published and unpublished author.  The dream lives with them 24 hours a day because inside their heart is the burning desire to “change lives through the power of the pen”. 

Let me start off by telling you a true story… 

My mind races back to the early 70’s when I was just a child and would love to watch the Walton’s on T.V.  Perhaps my favorite character was John-Boy because I could identify with him wanting to be a writer.  Since the age of 12 years old I knew that I wanted to be a writer.  When I read an ad in a comic book, “How to Become a Writer” I rustled some money from my folks and sent for the home course.

I can still remember the day I got the package in the mail, my heart raced with excitement and my mind zoomed with adventure.  It was a brown soft bound book and when I started to read it, I remembered thinking, “I don’t have a clue what this book is saying.”  But it did not matter to me; just having that book gave me hope and inspiration!

It allowed me to feed my dream of someday becoming a published author, to have the ability to paint on the canvas of paper the words, thoughts, dreams and visions that would flood my mind on a daily basis.

That little brown unattractive home study course on how to become a writer fueled my passion to share my thoughts and words with the world.  It did not matter that I did not understand one word that course said, it was my point of contact to dream, and dream big!

I share that story with you because there are many reasons why people have a dream to write a book; however this is what I have learned,

Most have the ability, some have the drive but few have the know how.” 

Finding Your PassionHaving a dream to become a published author is a wonderful and powerful element.  Did my youthful dream of becoming a published author ever come true?  Many people have wondered about that.  Well, 33 years after I got that home study course in the mail I have had the good pleasure to have published 19 books and create the best selling The Power of Mentorship book series that now have over 200,000 printed copies in the marketplace worldwide.

Yes dreams are important and yes they do come true, but not by themselves.  You see, many people have dreams, but not every one has wings.  Dreams without wings stay grounded.

How do we put wings to our dreams?  By good old hard work; my good friend and best selling author Brian Tracy says it best; “Success is 1 percent inspiration and 99 percent hard work”.

Did we say hard work?  Let’s make it clear that hard work is smart work, knowing what to do and how to do it to create the results you want.

If you have a dream of becoming a published author (or any dream for that matter) or if you are an author and want to sell more books, here are 5 important points to help you take that dream from your heart and turn it into reality.

1.        Find A Mentor.  Finding a mentor that can teach you how to get what you want is not only invaluable but a necessary ingredient to achieve your goal and dream.  It will save you years off the learning curve and save you thousands of dollars of costly mistakes.  When I went to my first mentor to teach me how to do a book series he asked me; “do you want to do this as a hobby or a business?  I responded I do not know?  He looked at me and said get out of my office; if you are not going to treat this like a business you have no business doing it!  That was the key advice that allowed me to create our highly successful book series.

Another book mentor of mine was the late Charlie Tremendous Jones.  I remember when we came out with our second Power of Mentorship book I put on the cover volume two.  I had already approved the cover, and the cover was done.  Charlie told me; get the word volume off that cover.  I said “why Charlie, it looks so good?”  He said if you keep it there it will hinder your sales.  Charlie had been in the book business for over 40 years and his mentorship proved once again to be invaluable.

2.        Get into an anthology. One the best ways to start your publishing career as well as boost an existing one and sell more books (if you currently have one) is to become published in an anthology.  An anthology is book that is composed of contributing authors or what I like to refer as “co-authors”. 

There are a number of anthology books on the market today that will give you the opportunity to be part of the book; however the best ones to be involved with are those who have best selling authors that are part of the contributing authors.

The keys to writing success is positioning yourself as an expert, establishing your credibility, massive exposure, and developing your brand.  Anthologies help you do exactly that especially those that have best selling authors that are part of that group.

3.        Keep your writing dreams alive.  If you have a dream to become a published author, you and you alone will have to be the “keeper of the flame”.  It will be up to you to stay excited, fuel your passion and fan the flame.  Your mentor can give you the plan; you however must supply the drive.  How strong is your desire to write?  How much passion do you have to get published, have a book and get your message in print form?   Only you can answer these questions and the answers will determine if you are willing to put wings to your dream or allow your dream to stay grounded.

4.        Take action now.  When I go speak in a certain city, I always have people come up to me and tell me they are in the process of writing a book, or plan to write a book.  What always amazes me is when I visit that same city the next year or so, 95 percent of those same people who told me about their writing dreams have done nothing to towards making them a reality.  Dreaming is worthless unless you add action with it.  My mentor Bob Proctor taught me how to make decisions based on what I want, not what I think I can do, not what circumstances dictate to me or what my bank account tells me what I can or cannot do. 

Start taking action now, today, and the plan, the people and resources will always show up along the way.

5.        Know your purpose.  You must know what you want and why you want it.  Many people know what they want, but when it comes to analyzing why they want it they become clueless.  Know why you want to become a published author.  It is because you have a burning message in your heart that you fill compelled to get out into the market, a desire to help people through the power of the pen, to sell a lot of books and create a fortune?  These are all worthy and honorable goals.  Whatever your reason, whatever your purpose is to become a published author know them and you will be well on your way to making your dream come true.

The Cure for Chronic Lack

The cure for Chronic Lack is daily, massive and obsessive prospecting and marketing “Activity”.  Mild to severe to chronic financial lack in business can be directly traced back to insufficient prospecting and marketing which results in lack of sales.  When we face any type of financial crunch is never due to external causes, but always internal causes.  As negative and dreary as this sounds, it really is a positive thing because we hold the cure and remedy to fix this condition of lack any time we choose to do so.

However, we must understand that excuses and activity do not mix and cannot coexist in the same atmosphere any more than oil and water mix together. Let’s do some simple math which governs the dynamics of the child’s lemonade stand to a massive comprehensive empire like e-bay.  All business functions on this one dynamic, “the selling of products and/or service for profit. Take this one dynamic away from any business and that business ceases to exist.

Business, product, service, marketing, and leadership have a matrix of diversity yet they all come into synergistic agreement in this one element…”Sales”.  Here is the other intricate dimension that is both simplistic and profound, “Sales do not occur without the element of a customer.  Now as simple as this illustrated equation of mathematical business mechanics is, very few companies or professionals have a working knowledge of this, at least not to a degree that causes them to put it into daily action.

There is however a few companies out there that have a complete understanding of this concept and perhaps you may have heard of some of these firms like…

Depending to grow your business and income on the power of your business card is like shooting Godzilla with a pea shooter and thinking that big monster is going to kill over.  No one in their right mind would be that stupid to believe that…Right? (Please say yes).  Yet millions of professionals and business owners go out into the marketplace with that mighty card expecting that they are going to change their financial and business conditions around for the better.

How effective are business cards?

As a business owner like any other profession, you need more customers, more sales, and more bottom line profits.  So let me ask you, how many clients, referrals and money can you directly trace back to being results of your business card?

The fact is business cards and brochures as important as they are when everything is said and done are really poor performers in the area of marketing and generating revenue.  The three major reasons are:

1. Business cards have been used for 100 years and have exhausted its uniqueness.
