I Hope Things Get Better…

Have you ever heard any one say “I hope things get better”?  Of course you have and perhaps this is even something you say on a consistent basis.  Many people are buckling under the pressure of everyday life of business, work and finances.  I had a stranger ask me today if I ever bought Lotto tickets. I told him no, never.  He glazed off in deep thought and said, “It’s the only way out of this financial misery everyone is in”.

When you do not understand or practice the fundamentals of sound business principles then you don’t have much choice but to live your life on the basis of “I Hope Things Get Better”.  The problem with this philosophy is that things rarely get better but has an automatic tendency of getting worse!  Living this way is like speeding down the highway, closing your eyes and let go of the steering wheel and then “Hope Things Get Better”.  You can see why they rarely do.

The good new is however, you can move from “I Hope Things Get Better” to “I Know Things Are Going To Get Better”.  The transition comes when we do certain things that we know will cause things to get better.

I have a lot of people tell me their problems and after I let them ramble on for a while I ask them a simple question; “What are you doing about them”.  That usually gets that same symptom of the bottom lip begin quivering, the top lip start moving but no words come out.  Then out of some kind of desperation they let out a Monster growl like Ahhhhhhhh!

Everyone goes through tough times; it is a process and cycle of life.  The jjimrohn_seated_2late and legendary Jim Rohn called them the Seasons of Life.  The important thing to comprehend is the importance of developing the skill of doing proactive actions that change those challenging times.  When you are practicing the fundamentals of business you move from “I Hope Things Get Better” to “I Know Things Will Get Better” because you are doing the things that will make them better.

Here are a few things you want to do to keep you in the realm of “Knowing Things Will Get Better”.

  1. Daily Activity Prospecting daily is crucial element to help you navigate through the cycles of business.  It is your deed of guarantee that things will get better when you hit a dry spot or selling slump. 
  1. Daily Marketing  After all is said and done, after all the fancy wrapper is stripped away, the impressive vernacular is put back, when the make up comes off selling comes down to a numbers game.  The numbers game, its old, its simple, but its accurate and dependable.  The degree of your long-term success in selling and business will be a reflection of how many people hear your offer. 
  1. Massive Exposure   The old saying of “It’s not what you know but who you know” has a twin sibling “Its not who you know it’s who knows about you”.  The more people who know about you, your company and product line the more business you are going to do.  This is based on the law of the built-in market.  There are thousands of people worldwide that want to buy what you are selling.  And the only reason you have not gotten rich so far is not enough people know about you.  Once your name, branding, company or product hits massive exposure the momentum of increase in business and profits begin to grow exponentially. 

So when things get tough and challenging (and they will) you can look people in the eye and say “I Know Things Are Going To Get Better”.  And iflaw of attraction anyone ask how you know that you can simply tell them…”Because I Am Doing the Things to Make Them Better”.  Knowing and practicing these three business insights will help you get a better night sleep, remove fear and stress from your heart and renew your strength to keep moving on!

“The e-book Phenomena” How to turn your e-Book into a Financial Fortune!

The only way to earn more money is by creating more new customers.  This is a very easy equation to understand, the hard part is how to apply it or implement it.  As the creator and publisher of the Power of Mentorship groupbooksbook series, which now has 24 titles, have sold more than 200,000 copies worldwide and can be found on Barnes and Noble.com, and Amazon.com I completely understand the traditional methods and reasons of writing and publishing a book.

The fastest path to cash, more income, new business and customers is by “Attracting Them” not “Prospecting for Them”.  Here is a well-kept secret by every millionaire business person; “The way to get people to take something out of their pockets (money) is to First put something (value) into them”.

Now let’s face it, giving away free printed books can be costly up front, however, giving away an e-book cost nothing and can be as effective as giving away a hard copy of a book.  I create thousands of dollars and entire list of new customers by giving away e-books. Giving away e-books creates value, goodwill and appreciation among those you give them too.

“Giving away a quality e-book is the most cost-effective way to create more business and income on the Planet”.

But beware; not all e-books are equal!  Many people give away books that are public domain and although many of them are very good, most people have them or read them before, therefore it diminishes the “value factor” of them.  But when are giving your prospects and clients an e-book that have chapters by some of the most powerful leaders of the 21st Century, plus you positioning your self as an “Expert” by writing a chapter in this book, how much value do you think that you create for them?

The Skill of Seeing Opportunity…

The story is told of Thomas Edison at the height of his career and fame once went into his shop and asked one of his young employees what was his number one goal was in the whole wide world?   Without hesitation the young apprentice replied, “Oh Mr. Edison I want to wealthy like you”.  Mr. Edison smiled without saying a word and left the building.

A short time later Mr. Edison returned with a pair of glasses in which he replaced the lens with silver dollars.  He asked the young man who had told him that his greatest dream was to be wealthy to put on the glasses and tell what he saw.  The young man put on the pair of glasses and replied, “Mr. Edison, I don’t see anything”.  Mr. Edison then told the young man, “that is your problem, money is right in front of your eyes and you cannot even see it!”

Everyone has a millionaire within.

 

If there was anything my Millionaire Mentors taught me they taught me the skill of spotting and “Seeing Opportunity”.  If there is one thing that shocks me still after being in the personal development industry for over thirty years is the thousands of people who cannot see “Opportunity” when it is sitting there right in front of their eyes.  Everyday millions of people wake up and complain about their terrible circumstances in life, when standing right in front of them calling their name is the Opportunity to changes those unfavorable conditions.

However, seeing opportunity is only half of the equation of success, the second part which is just as important as seeing it is the ability to “Take Action on Opportunity” People have burned to death in a burning building because they were afraid to jump even though there were firemen and a net ready to catch them to safety.  They were aware of the horrible situation; they saw the opportunity to save themselves from a burning building but stood there frozen and not take action.

It is important to take some time today and look around at the dozens of opportunities that are knocking on your door.  Learn to become proficient in seeing opportunity and then make sure you work on developing the self discipline to take action on those opportunities.  Playing it safe, procrastinating, and waiting for the perfect conditions can all be a death warrant to your future finances.

I will close with the wisdom that Bob Proctor taught one morning when I was having an early breakfast with him in Scottsdale, Arizona.  We were talking about decision making and its importance.  He looked at me and said, “Don the way you make the right decision every time is to ask yourself two questions;

  1. Will this decision move me closer to my dreams?
  2. Is this decision in harmony with what I am doing? 

If you answer yes to both those questions, you move forward and make that decision.  You don’t worry if you have the money, ability, resources, time, energy or anything else, once you make the right decision based on those two questions everything else you need will show up.

That wisdom that Bob Proctor taught me many years ago has served me well and has never failed or let me down, even when it went against (and many times it did) conventional thinking and apparent evidence to do other wise.

Remember this economy we are in today is not the cause of your lack, but it does demand that you take responsibility for your results in life.

Trying To Build Wealth Backwards…

Growing up I was never what you would call “Mechanically Inclined” and perhaps that is why I never liked reading instructions which is why anything I tried to fix or install never came out right.  Unfortunately, most people, professionals and business owners who seek to create and build wealth go about it backwards and this is why they fail to achieve what they seek to accomplish.

Creating WealthLet me give you an example; most people seek to build a company, develop a product or service and put all their energy, time and money into this phase of the business.  Once they exploit this avenue to the tilt they proudly look up and are

 satisfied that it is the best Gizmo that ever hit planet Earth.  Now, after resources are almost depleted, and everyone is worn down and wore out, they go about in the marketplace to sell it.

Big Mistake.  Most of the time this plan leads to bitter disappointment and failure; it is trying to build wealth backwards.  What is the correct way?  This is what only the few know and are unwilling to share with others.  But I am going to revel it to you here.

The most valuable asset of any company is their “List” of customers, clients, prospects and followers.  The first step in building wealth is not building a company, product or service; it is building a “List” which is composed of three elements.

  1. Build an Audience
  2. Develop a Following
  3. Sell Them Products 

You build your list by Lead Generating Products; better known as Free Informational gifts of reports, books, CD’s and DVD’s.  Once they respond to receive your free offer you begin to feed them with more valueable information and then they will on their own accord start to follow you.

Once they start to follow you and you continue to take care of them by solving their problems, and giving them constant value the next organic thing that happens is that they start buying your product line without resistance. 

No more trying to get people to buy things, begging them to sign up on your opportunity, Hell most of the time the stupid bastards won’t even show up to the meeting after they promised you they would and you are left like a glossy eyed Jack Ass pacing the lobby floor tying to call them which of course goes straight to voice mail.

No more cutting prices down so low that all profit is lost just to get the deal.  No more fear of where your next sale or lead is going to come from.  No more headaches, upset stomach and rectal leakage because you just don’t know how you are going to make ends meet this month!

If I had to start from scratch today and if I had no idea what kind of business I wanted to start or product I wanted to sell I would spend 90 percent of my time building my list by giving things away.  You can sustain a very healthy list for a very long time without ever asking them to purchase anything.  This way you have plenty of time to decide what you want to sell and when you are ready, you will have a house full of guest ready to buy!

Now that my friend, is the correct way to build wealth.  Build a List First and then find out what you want to do!
