When I look back over the past 34 years of my career I realize that all my Mentors did one thing and that was to help me focus on becoming a “Proficient Leader” for each one knew that Leadership is the foundation of all wealth and success.  They also knew Leadership starts at home, with you.  I was trained at 19 years old by my Mentors on leading myself to develop discipline, excellence, vision, determination, persistence, faith, honor, loyalty, courage and class.  I had to lead myself in these areas before I could ever develop to a point that I could lead others.

Therefore Choose to Be Strong! In whatever profession you are in your ultimate goal is to take on the role and move into the position of leadership. However, many people mistake management for leadership and that is a deadly mistake if you are in the “Team Building Business” which is one of the highest paid professions in the world.  They say if you are a leader and no one is following you then you are simply taking a walk. The true role of leadership is anything but glamorous but in fact one that is of service.  Leadership is many times a very lonely road.  While others are home resting you are up working late into the night and early morning to help and be a service to people.  It is a role that is undervalued and underappreciated.  Most of the time you are the first one to a meeting (setting everything up) and the last one to leave (cleaning everything up).

The crowds enjoy all the value you bring and the service you provide and after the party is over they zoom out with their presents without saying thank you.  This however is a very small price and sacrifice in comparison to knowing that as a true Leader you are changing lives and creating destinies for good people.  And just to put the icing on the cake, it pays so well in income that you will live like a King or Queen with Financial Freedom!  Use your business to “build people” don’t use “people to build your business”!

Things that go Boom!!!

Some question why I would be working on the fourth of July.  If I earned my living and created my wealth through working I would indeed have my head examined.  However what I do is not work but passion, love, excitement and what I do is a 4^th of July Celebration everyday of the week.  But it didn’t always start out that way.  In fact my first journey way back 24 years ago started out by being the first guy that ever got kicked out of an Amway Meeting!

It starting by having a CEO I knew ask me one day if I was making all the money I wanted. Instantly I could smell Networking Marketing a mile away.  He had that goofy glazed look in his eyes and I knew he was heading me in waters I did not want to go.  But I had no choice but to play along because he was the guy who signed the yearly contract I had with his company.

He soon rushed me out to his car and opened his trunk and gave me a bucket with 6 types of cleaning products in it and told me to go home and use them.  A few days later he called me and wanted to know where I lived and if he could come over and see me.  I told him, “My you are a fast mover aren’t you” (I guess his version of flowers and candies was that bucket of cleaners he gave me). Anyway he got me to go to his house to hear an Amway Millionaire share his story.

So I said sure I will go, and gave him a big (fake) possum grin.  But this young fox had a plan.  I called my best friend Manny and told him to go with me so we could say we could not stay because he had to pick up his wife.  As I entered the house that day we were instantly introduced to the Network Marketing Millionaire.  His first words were, “Great to meet you guys are you here for the whole meeting”?

Instantly I went into my well thought out plan, “Well I said, my friend has to go pick up his wife and my kids are waiting at the city pool and… He put his arm around us and said he understood as he opened up the door and closed it behind us.

I was shocked and looked at my friend and said, “I think we just got kicked out of the Amway Meeting”!  As I walked away I thought to myself that if I ever did do Network Marketing I wanted to be like that guy.

He was a Network Marketing Millionaire because he recognized we were not ready and too stupid to see the opportunity he had to offer that could have made us rich.  So as we drove off in my friend’s clunker that blew black smoke out of its back pipes, he drove home that night in his brand new Mercedes.

How Much Does Success Cost?

I guess you would call me an Inspirational writer, meaning I do not pre-write my blogs, but wait and listen everyday until I get the right message to share with our readership the thing they need at the right time in their life. Today I am sharing on the price or cost of Success. One of the best questions you could ever ask is, “How Much Does Success Cost?  In life, we ask about the cost of everything we buy, (except when it comes to my wife and her shoes, she could careless how much they cost…but I sure do!).  Yet rarely do we take the time to find out how much success and our dreams really cost.

Success will cost you “Everything You Have In Order to Give You Everything You Want” On your Journey to your Dreams, obstacles, set backs, challenges, disappointments, failures, fears and problems will come in and rain down on you unmercifully and the only thing that will pull you through is a relentless fighting spirit, the proper tools and a caring Mentor.  But the good news is, with these three elements the chains that hold back your Ultimate Dreams will be broken and you will attain that which you seek!

If there was only one bit of advice out of the thousands of things I could share with people, that one bit of advice I would give is…

Success requires you to face the fact that as adults we have moved from Paternalism to Individualism. Paternalism is what happens between good and loving parents and their children during childhood and adolescences which basically equates to “Father will Provide”.  However, in adulthood life, we move into Individualism which is Personal Responsibility for our results or…”If it’s Going to Be, It’s Up to Me 

I am sorry to be the one to break the harsh news to you but, no one is coming to your rescue, no one is going to fight your battle, and no one is going to create your success.  We all have to face the fact that if “Success is To Be, It’s 100 percent up to Me”.

Trying to live by Paternalism (Father will Provide) into adulthood is one of the main and deadly factors of Failure and disappointments in life, business

and relationships. This is also the reason many people get bitter towards God when the Miracle does not come when they expect one.  Thousands of preachers across the globe stand up saying “Give me your offering and God will provide for your every need!” Yes, I believe in giving and do believe God provides for us; however it is not under the principle of Paternalism but Responsibility.  100 years ago, most preachers that proclaim that paternalism message today (that makes them rich) would have eventually got the Ass Whooping of their life from their loving congregation!

Just to set the records straight, less you think I am a heathen, it is very important that we acknowledge a loving heavenly Father that provides for us and for us to develop a deep loving relationship with Him and always maintain a humble spirit of gratitude and appreciation.  God provides for us by giving us the Power to Get Wealth, but it becomes our responsibility to make it happen.  And just for good measure, I am not opposed at all of Preachers getting Rich, they should be rich, only teach people the correct way to get rich (Responsibility, If its going to be, its up to me) and not the false way of Paternalism.

If you go into life and business under the principle of Paternalism “Father will Provide” life will give you the Ass Whooping of your life!  Ok, I guess I stirred up enough bee hives today, I know some folks will be like an angry bee over this blog, yet for others, it will be a message of salvation from a trap of discouragement and disappointment, and for that reason, I will keep writing on!

One of the wealthiest men on earth was asked what it takes to be Successful.  He said it only takes two things;

1. Decide on what you want
2. Be willing to pay the price to get it 

How simple is that!  Do you know what you want and are you willing to pay the price to get it?  It is all up to you because…”If its to Be, Its up to Me”.
