Certified Mentor

If you have followed and worked with me for any length of time I have shared with you how at the young age of sixteen I would go down to skid road in Los Angeles, California by myself every Friday night and give the homeless people money.  From my teenage years I had this unrelenting depth of compassion for the lack and struggle I see in people. In my early twenties when I would see homeless people tears would stream down my face as I whispered a prayer “Please God make me a Millionaire so I can help these people”.  The reason I do what I do with our Mentorship programs is based on that compassion for people.  On Saturday Melinda and I went to an auction that was for the estate sale of the Legendary Rock Star Tom Petty.  It was not that he died, but went through a very bad divorce and the majority of the possessions had to be liquidated.

As I watched many people with deep pockets pay outrages sums of money for these items without blinking an eye, there were many there that only had a few dollars to spend.  As these people would bid there small bids were soon wiped out by much higher bids and I watched the disappointment and sadness on their face as they were not able to purchase anything.  One lady was there for over 9 hours (we stood 12 hours) always bidding and being disappointed.

Finally an old scarf came up for bid that nobody wanted (his bed was valued at 40k and sold for about 3k) and she got it for $40.00.  The joy on her face was amazing because she was able to get something (that nobody else wanted).  My heart and compassion went out to this lady and sadness filled my heart.  An unbelievable surge of determination once again griped my soul to help everyone I can to become financially independent and enjoy all the good life has to offer.

It took me years of hard dedicated study and tens of thousands of dollars educating myself to find the key and secrets to riches and how to help anyone obtain wealth and financial freedom. And now that I have those exact plans how to do it, I reach out every day and invite and compel people to let me help them eradicate lack and obtain riches in their life.

Many times I feel like Noah preaching to the masses of his time to enter the Ark and be safe and prosper.  Most days I come across people who are “Overwhelmed” with stress and problems.  But do you realize you can be “Overwhelmed” with success, joy, health, and riches!

Pay close attention to your emotions for emotions are “Energy in Motion”.  Energy that is traveling or moving in a certain direction; if you really want to get scientific its energy vibrating at a certain frequency.  Positive emotions attract the things we desire towards us and repel the things we don’t want away from us.   However, negative emotions attract the things we don’t want and repel things we do want. 

Emotions are the end results of our thoughts and what we continually think about.  Make a decision today, right now that you will take control of your thoughts.  To think only what is pure, honest, lovely and positive.  Right now, many of you know that my son is in the last stages of Leukemia and my mother in law is in stage four Cancer.  As horrible of an experience this is to our family, both Melinda and me take control of our thoughts and emotions and make every day a Spectacular day.   We control life instead of letting life (and its many crises) control us.  We keep our faith high, our emotions positive and strong and this is how we win in life!  Make your life one of meaning, contribution, and “Excitement”

When life goes South..

When life or business goes south…just keep flying North!  Your true north is your dreams and goals that you desire.  Storms come and storms pass the key is to never let them get you off course for long.   Melinda and I was driving one time early one winter morning while it was still dark and we hit very heavy fog.  We were in an area that we were not familiar with and although I was not lost, I just did not know where in the heck I was.  I asked Melinda what she thought we should do?  She said “Just keep driving”.  That is good advice for business as well.  If you get stuck in the fog and have no clue where you are at, just keep going!  When you don’t know what to do just do what you know to do and everything will work out.

Don’t Worry About Sales…

In the world of business and Entrepreneurship sales are the most vital ingredients of any company, for without sales the organization ceases to exist.  With all this pressure on a business, it is not unusual that everyone from the President to the Sales rep fight a constant battle of worry over sales so much that they walk around looking like they are wearing extra small underwear!  However, the key to Sales Success in not to worry about sales, but to focus on massive, constant, and daily prospecting and marketing activity.

If you focus on activity, sales will be the natural end result.  Double and triple your daily activity and sales will start showing up on their own.

Faith and Action

More people have become bitter and disillusioned, and extremely disappointed because they sought to reach their business and financial dreams with faith and belief alone.  But faith is not the absent of action, rather it is the Reason for action.  The Bible states that “Faith without Works (action) is Dead”.  Meaning, if you do not add action to your faith the results you are looking and hoping for will not come to pass.

You have to have a reason to believe you are going to get a harvest.  When you market and prospect everyday, you are like a farmer planting seed in the ground.  As long as the farmer plants seed in the ground, he has every Reason to believe and expect that he is going to get a harvest.  In other words his faith has substance.

Show me any professional entrepreneur or business that does not put prospecting and marketing as their top priority and I will show you a business that is or headed straight to financial problems.

On the other hand, no matter how severe a business is in trouble, it has a very high rate of survival and turning things around if it will revamp and restructure their marketing plan and system.

When people come to me and ask me what they need to do to make their business successful or get it out of financial trouble, my answer is the same.  In fact it is the same answer I give to successful business owners or professionals who want to become more successful.  Here is the plan I give them.  Stop trying to Sell Products and…

1. Create An Audience by using lead generation products. 

2. Develop a Following by giving them high value information and solving their problems. 

3. Create an atmosphere of buying instead of an atmosphere of selling. 

Success and business solutions are quite simple, but we have been conditioned and trained to complicate things and make things far more difficult than they need to be.

It is amazing how little hinges can swing open big heavy doors!  The same is true in life and business.  Whatever financial goals you or your business wants to achieve, the solution is very simple to implement.  Now, I did not say it was without effort, but it is something any average person can do.

The Skill of Seeing Opportunity…

The story is told of Thomas Edison at the height of his career and fame once went into his shop and asked one of his young employees what was his number one goal was in the whole wide world?   Without hesitation the young apprentice replied, “Oh Mr. Edison I want to wealthy like you”.  Mr. Edison smiled without saying a word and left the building.

A short time later Mr. Edison returned with a pair of glasses in which he replaced the lens with silver dollars.  He asked the young man who had told him that his greatest dream was to be wealthy to put on the glasses and tell what he saw.  The young man put on the pair of glasses and replied, “Mr. Edison, I don’t see anything”.  Mr. Edison then told the young man, “that is your problem, money is right in front of your eyes and you cannot even see it!”

 

If there was anything my Millionaire Mentors taught me they taught me the skill of spotting and “Seeing Opportunity”.  If there is one thing that shocks me still after being in the personal development industry for over thirty years is the thousands of people who cannot see “Opportunity” when it is sitting there right in front of their eyes.  Everyday millions of people wake up and complain about their terrible circumstances in life, when standing right in front of them calling their name is the Opportunity to changes those unfavorable conditions.

However, seeing opportunity is only half of the equation of success, the second part which is just as important as seeing it is the ability to “Take Action on Opportunity” People have burned to death in a burning building because they were afraid to jump even though there were firemen and a net ready to catch them to safety.  They were aware of the horrible situation; they saw the opportunity to save themselves from a burning building but stood there frozen and not take action.

It is important to take some time today and look around at the dozens of opportunities that are knocking on your door.  Learn to become proficient in seeing opportunity and then make sure you work on developing the self discipline to take action on those opportunities.  Playing it safe, procrastinating, and waiting for the perfect conditions can all be a death warrant to your future finances.

I will close with the wisdom that Bob Proctor taught one morning when I was having an early breakfast with him in Scottsdale, Arizona.  We were talking about decision making and its importance.  He looked at me and said, “Don the way you make the right decision every time is to ask yourself two questions;

1. Will this decision move me closer to my dreams?
2. Is this decision in harmony with what I am doing? 

If you answer yes to both those questions, you move forward and make that decision.  You don’t worry if you have the money, ability, resources, time, energy or anything else, once you make the right decision based on those two questions everything else you need will show up.

That wisdom that Bob Proctor taught me many years ago has served me well and has never failed or let me down, even when it went against (and many times it did) conventional thinking and apparent evidence to do other wise.

Remember this economy we are in today is not the cause of your lack, but it does demand that you take responsibility for your results in life.
